Choosing our political leaders...

we are in this mess because we keep voting for politicians.
We don't need any more politicians.
We need good people;
ordinary people who understand struggle;
who understand how to manage their wages to get to the end of the month;
people who have to stand in line for public services;
people who take the bus;
people who can't afford a holiday;
people who have to mortgage their house to give their kids an education;
people who work 350 days a year on minimum wage;
people with real qualifications in politically relevant areas like economics, management, business, finance, health care;
people with years of priceless experience who can't get a job;
people with small children;
people with elderly parents;
people who are carers;
people who have had to work their way honestly to the top of their professions;
people with morals;
people with honesty;
people with integrity;
people with the respect of the common man;
people who believe that public service is about working in the service of the public, not people who believe that the people work in the service of them.

surely there are people like that amongst us............
